Dr. Bean purchased The Cat's
Meow in August 2001. Prior to this big
change, she provided house calls throughout most of Tarrant and Parker
counties. Her mobile practice allowed more time with her sons during
their high school years. Before starting her mobile practice, Dr.
Bean practiced medicine at Wedgwood Animal Hospital in Fort Worth
(1979-1996). She is currently fulfilling her dream of owning a feline-only practice.
In her free time, she loves the beach and
everything about it, as her trinkets are all tropical fish and palm
trees; she even has a saltwater aquarium and an outdoor pool & deck in
tropical theme. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and Bible study.
On Saturday mornings, she participates in an organization that
provides ministry and education to some of the homeless people in
downtown Fort Worth. The ministry group is currently teaching
selected "students" how to get back on their feet and get back into
the working world. Dr. Bean is very close to her 3 adult sons,
Zed, Preston, and Jake, and their families. They are her pride
and joy. She is very excited that she is a grandmother for
the first time (Alison, Jake's wife, delivered Addison Marie Bean on September 12, 2007).
Congratulations to the entire family!!!

parties (especially Texas Hold 'Em), wine tasting parties, and murder mystery dinner parties. They love to travel and geocache (see
www.geocaching.com).
She has been a volunteer with Hospice of the West since January 2004,
making weekly visits with patients. In addition to trying to help make
the world better for animals and people, Dr. Susan is interested in
