Dr. Susan was raised in Lawton, OK and attended Oklahoma State University for undergraduate and veterinary school. She graduated with a DVM in May 2001 and moved to Fort Worth to practice medicine at The Cat's Meow. She has always had a particular interest in kitties and was looking for a feline-only hospital. January 2014 Dr. Susan purchased The Cat's Meow Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Bean, who retired after owning The Cat's Meow from 2001-2013. Dr. Susan's husband, Nathan, is a CPA and is working as practice manager at The Cat's Meow. They have three cats; Mouse, who was born in 2013, and Mimosa and Biscuits, who were born in 2015. Dr. Susan enjoys gardening, fitness, cooking, board games, and trying new restaurants. She and Nathan love to travel (especially to the Caribbean) and experience life to the fullest. Dr. Susan is interested in recycling, using sustainable, renewable resources, and trying to preserve nature.
Originally from Stillwater, Oklahoma, Nathan met Dr. Susan through a mutual friend while she was in Stillwater during veterinary school. Nathan is a CPA with a special interest in managerial accounting (he's also a cat lover). He is practice manager at The Cat's Meow and takes care of all the non-medical aspects of running a business, allowing Dr. Susan to fully focus on her patients. Nathan enjoys travel, wine, racquetball, puzzles, games, escape rooms, and learning new skills (he has taken piano lessons, Spanish lessons, parkour classes, and various other activities). Nathan passed his level 1 sommelier exam in 2015 and enjoys teaching others about wine!
Dr. Loupe was born and raised outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University for undergraduate and veterinary school, graduating with a DVM in May 2015. Dr. Loupe’s desire to practice feline medicine led her and her husband, Paul, to move to Fort Worth and join the team at The Cat’s Meow as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Loupe enjoys spending time with her pets, training her dog in agility, dabbling in photography, and watching sports with her husband, especially football. Her family consists of three cats, Fry, Olive, and Scarlett, and a dog named Arwen.
Dr. Loupe has been with The Cat's Meow since 2015.
Dr. Irving was born and raised in Orange, Texas. She attended Texas A&M University for undergraduate and veterinary school. She has always had an interest in cats and dedicated her elective rotations in veterinary school to learning more about feline medicine. After graduating in May 2017, she worked at a feline only clinic in Wisconsin before returning to her native Texas to work at The Cat’s Meow as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Irving enjoys reading science fiction books, knitting, spinning, growing vegetables, and eating good food in her spare time. She lives with one Siamese diva named Princess Juno Whiskers Fuzzybottom.
Dr. Irving has been with The Cat's Meow since 2019.
Dr. Follman was born and raised in Oak Ridge, TN. She attended the University of Tennessee receiving a bachelor's degree in animal science and a minor in biology. She went on to attend the University of Tennessee for veterinary school graduating with a DVM in 2021. In her free time she is a huge foodie and enjoys trying new restaurants (she is the least picky eater!), kayaking, traveling to warm places (she dislikes the cold), wine tasting, sudoku puzzles, swimming, and reading. Dr. Follman has two orange cats- one long hair and one short hair, and an orange golden retriever mix.
Dr. Follman has been with the Cats Meow since 2021
Before joining our team, Missy had worked in the veterinary field for around 5 years. She started out wanting to work with animals and was employed at a clinic helping in the kennels. From there, she was transferred to the reception area. We happened upon Missy after she had moved to the Fort Worth area and was at a part-time job outside of the veterinary field. We met her and decided she would fit in, and we are certainly glad she joined our team. She has been fantastic taking care of our front office.
As receptionist, Missy is often the first person our clients speak to on the phone and in the clinic. She stays very busy answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, and acting as liaison between owners and doctors or staff. She organizes numerous charts and forms, sends and receives faxes (lab results, medical records, etc.), and takes care of written and oral reminders (for clients and our team members). There are so many miscellaneous tasks we ask her to do that there is not enough room here to list them all! Missy is great at remaining calm and friendly and professional even when she is very busy, and she provides a stable foundation by taking care of the many front desk responsibilities consistently, efficiently, and completely.
Her main goal in life is to be happy. She has a wonderful fiance, Scott, and shares a home with 2 cats, a dog, and two finches. She collects things with dragonflies and Dallas Cowboys. She likes fashion, celebrity news, and loves being outside. Outdoor activities (swimming, camping, road trips, etc) are what she prefers. She loves to vacation in Mexico. Her life certainly sounds happy...hopefully she's living her goal!
Missy has been with The Cat's Meow since 2006.
Born in Illinois, Kris finally made it to Texas, where it is hot and sunny, like she prefers. She enjoys flower gardening, riding motorcycles, and just being out in the sunshine. Her absolute favorite thing to do, though, is to curl up on the sofa with a good book, a cup of flavored coffee, and a kitty (or 2 or 3 or...) Add a crackling fire in cool weather, and she's in heaven! Aside from staying busy with those activities and work, she enjoys church and spending time with her pets. She currently has several cats, several dogs, and a parrot. She collects anything and everything to do with cats (even cats themselves!)
Professionally, Kris is a Registered Veterinary Technician and has joined us already armed with knowledge and skills. She has worked at various veterinary hospitals as well as a veterinary emergency hospital, but she is very excited about limiting her time to only working with cats (her true passion). She is using her skills as nurse in the exam rooms as well as helping during surgery and caring for the boarding and hospitalized kitties. She will TRULY pamper your pet during its stay at The Cat's Meow!
Kris is very personable and laid-back. You will have no trouble talking her her about your kitty's health care (or just generally talking).
Kris has been with The Cat's Meow since 2007.
Cindy joined our hospital in May, 2010 after many years in the veterinary field. She is originally from California and is not necessarily a big fan of the heat here in Texas. She has an ever-changing number of pets in her house, as she sometimes fosters cats and dogs. Her 2 children are her joy. She also considers herself a beach bum. She would live near the ocean if she could (she already collects sea shells and loves ocean-inspired scents, arts, magazines, etc). In fact, marine animal rehab and beach clean up is one of her aspirations.
Something interesting about Cindy is that she is a huge fan of rock concerts. It's unbelievable the number she has already attended (mostly rock...can we say, "raised in the '80s?!")
Because of her experience, she came to The Cat's Meow already filled with veterinary knowledge and skills. Like most of our team members, she is cross-trained to fill most positions in the hospital.
Cindy has been with The Cat's Meow since 2010.
Jena is one of our two receptionists at The Cat's Meow. She is originally from Lebanon, Pennsylvania and moved to Fort Worth with her boyfriend Sonny in June 2018 for his engineering job with Lockheed Martin. Jena has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State and is currently working on her Master of Social Work (MSW) through Rutgers University’s online program. Growing up, her family always owned cats, dogs and rabbits (even two bearded dragons at one point), and when she moved to Fort Worth, she and her boyfriend adopted two cats from HSNT, Roo and Nyx. In Jena’s free time she enjoys working out and exploring the various places she has yet to visit in her new city of Fort Worth.
Jena has been with The Cat's Meow since 2018.
Gaby was born and raised in Texas. She has always loved, and taken care of, all sorts of animals from exotics, avians, reptiles, pocket pets, cats and dogs. She knew from a very early age that animals, and helping people, would be a big part of her life. She obtained her CVA in 2016 at the University of Texas at Arlington and has been working as a vet tech ever since gaining knowledge from numerous veterinarians, from all sorts of backgrounds, at animal hospitals and ER settings. Over time she found her passion, and heart, is with cats.
Gaby has a 14 year old DLH named Snowballs that she has had since he was a kitten. For the longest time Snowballs has been the only baby in the house; however, coming soon, there will be an actual baby girl welcomed to the family.
Gaby enjoys coffee, good food, movies, and spending time with good company as well as
relaxing at home with her cat.
Gaby has been with The Cat's Meow since 2019.
Megan is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, where she began her career in the veterinary field. Her love for animals started at a young age, especially taking care of various pets at home. Currently she has three cats, Scarlett, Cayde and Jasper, and a Betta fish named Geralt. She was a Veterinary Assistant for 4 years while also graduating from the Veterinary Technician program at Central Carolina Community College. Not long after, Megan and her husband, Chris, moved to New Orleans - Chris’s first duty station with the US Navy - and then to Fort Worth the beginning of 2019. The last couple years she was a stay at home mom for her daughter until recently joining The Cats Meow. She is very excited to provide care, love, and pets to all of the kitties that will be boarding!
Megan enjoys spending her time with her husband and daughter taking walks or exploring new places. She also enjoys cross-stitching and other crafty things, playing video games and geocaching.
Megan has been with The Cat's Meow since 2019.
Janessa has lived in many states, but she considers Colorado her home state. She moved to Fort Worth in 2017 after her husband was stationed here. She attends Arizona State University online working towards her Masters in Graphic Information Technology with the hopes of being a web developer in the future. Janessa and her husband are avid fans of Mustangs and really enjoy being able to spend time in their garage. They each own a white Mustang, and they even named all their cats and dogs with Mustang-inspired names.
They have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and a betta fish with plans to add more fish to the family. Janessa loves all things creative: drawing, painting, knitting, sewing... the list goes on. She also enjoys collecting Pokemon cards, playing video games, doing puzzles, novice woodworking, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
Janessa has been with The Cat's Meow since 2020.
