Dr. Susan was raised in Lawton, OK and attended Oklahoma State University for undergraduate and veterinary school. She graduated with a DVM in May 2001 and moved to Fort Worth to practice medicine at The Cat's Meow. She has always had a particular interest in kitties and was looking for a feline-only hospital. January 2014 Dr. Susan purchased The Cat's Meow Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Bean, who retired after owning The Cat's Meow from 2001-2013. Dr. Susan's husband, Nathan, is a CPA and is working as practice manager at The Cat's Meow. They have three cats; Mouse, who was born in 2013, and Mimosa and Biscuits, who were born in 2015. Dr. Susan enjoys gardening, fitness, cooking, board games, and trying new restaurants. She and Nathan love to travel (especially to the Caribbean) and experience life to the fullest. Dr. Susan is interested in recycling, using sustainable, renewable resources, and trying to preserve nature.
Originally from Stillwater, Oklahoma, Nathan met Dr. Susan through a mutual friend while she was in Stillwater during veterinary school. Nathan is a CPA with a special interest in managerial accounting (he's also a cat lover). He is practice manager at The Cat's Meow and takes care of all the non-medical aspects of running a business, allowing Dr. Susan to fully focus on her patients. Nathan enjoys travel, wine, racquetball, puzzles, games, escape rooms, and learning new skills (he has taken piano lessons, Spanish lessons, parkour classes, and various other activities). Nathan passed his level 1 sommelier exam in 2015 and enjoys teaching others about wine!

Before joining our team, Missy had worked in the veterinary field for around 5 years. She started out wanting to work with animals and was employed at a clinic helping in the kennels. From there, she was transferred to the reception area. We happened upon Missy after she had moved to the Fort Worth area and was at a part-time job outside of the veterinary field. We met her and decided she would fit in, and we are certainly glad she joined our team. She has been fantastic taking care of our front office.
As receptionist, Missy is often the first person our clients speak to on the phone and in the clinic. She stays very busy answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, and acting as liaison between owners and doctors or staff. She organizes numerous charts and forms, sends and receives faxes (lab results, medical records, etc.), and takes care of written and oral reminders (for clients and our team members). There are so many miscellaneous tasks we ask her to do that there is not enough room here to list them all! Missy is great at remaining calm and friendly and professional even when she is very busy, and she provides a stable foundation by taking care of the many front desk responsibilities consistently, efficiently, and completely.
Her main goal in life is to be happy. She has a wonderful fiance, Scott, and shares a home with 2 cats, a dog, and two finches. She collects things with dragonflies and Dallas Cowboys. She likes fashion, celebrity news, and loves being outside. Outdoor activities (swimming, camping, road trips, etc) are what she prefers. She loves to vacation in Mexico. Her life certainly sounds happy...hopefully she's living her goal!
Missy has been with The Cat's Meow since 2006.

Born in Illinois, Kris finally made it to Texas, where it is hot and sunny, like she prefers. She enjoys flower gardening, riding motorcycles, and just being out in the sunshine. Her absolute favorite thing to do, though, is to curl up on the sofa with a good book, a cup of flavored coffee, and a kitty (or 2 or 3 or...) Add a crackling fire in cool weather, and she's in heaven! Aside from staying busy with those activities and work, she enjoys church and spending time with her pets. She currently has several cats, several dogs, and a parrot. She collects anything and everything to do with cats (even cats themselves!)
Professionally, Kris is a Registered Veterinary Technician and has joined us already armed with knowledge and skills. She has worked at various veterinary hospitals as well as a veterinary emergency hospital, but she is very excited about limiting her time to only working with cats (her true passion). She is using her skills as nurse in the exam rooms as well as helping during surgery and caring for the boarding and hospitalized kitties. She will TRULY pamper your pet during its stay at The Cat's Meow!
Kris is very personable and laid-back. You will have no trouble talking her her about your kitty's health care (or just generally talking).
Kris has been with The Cat's Meow since 2007.

Cindy joined our hospital in May, 2010 after many years in the veterinary field. She is originally from California and is not necessarily a big fan of the heat here in Texas. She has an ever-changing number of pets in her house, as she sometimes fosters cats and dogs. Her 2 children are her joy. She also considers herself a beach bum. She would live near the ocean if she could (she already collects sea shells and loves ocean-inspired scents, arts, magazines, etc). In fact, marine animal rehab and beach clean up is one of her aspirations.
Something interesting about Cindy is that she is a huge fan of rock concerts. It's unbelievable the number she has already attended (mostly rock...can we say, "raised in the '80s?!")
Because of her experience, she came to The Cat's Meow already filled with veterinary knowledge and skills. Like most of our team members, she is cross-trained to fill most positions in the hospital.
Cindy has been with The Cat's Meow since 2010.

In Jena’s free time she enjoys working out and exploring the various places she has yet to visit in her new city of Fort Worth.
Jena has been with The Cat's Meow since 2018.
